In These Last Days Are You Paying The Price Or Just Coasting?........

In These Last Days Are You Paying The Price Or Just Coasting?

The prophets of the Old Testament. These were men of God who weren't very popular, hated by the established religious leaders, shunned by most of the people, men who couldn't' be bought, who refused to compromise their message for fame and fortune, and who understood their calling in life was to faithfully and obediently deliver the Word of God to the people. Their only goal in life was to faithfully serve the Lord no matter what the cost.

In reading about the Old Testament prophets, they didn't have buildings. They went to the people. They didn't have huge staffs, since they were servants of God, not men who were being served. They didn't have all the luxuries of the day, since their desires weren't for the things of this world but the things of God. However, I don't ever read about any of them starving to death or walking around naked or going without since God always provided what they needed, and they trusted Him each day for their provision.

"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear
unto myself, that I might finish my course"
     Acts 20:24

Do you pay a price-some extra time in the morning-to get into the Word of God?

Do you pay the price of being ridiculed because you keep your Bible on your desk in the office or bow your head and thank God for His gracious goodness to you when He gives you a meal?

Are you willing to be different because you are obedient?

Does God's truth mean more to you than popularity and acceptance of this world?

Will you finish your course fighting for the truth?

When you're running this race, you're going to find out that you're running right against the grain. Don't get the idea that there's the broad road and the narrow road, and the narrow road runs alongside the broad road, and over there a bunch of people are going this way, and over here you're going in the same direction.

No, there's the broad way, and here you are, right in the middle of it, going the other way. Against the grain.

What we believe starts at a different source follows a different course ends at a different conclusion ...and there is a price to pay!

Frankly, today we don't like that idea of a "price to pay."  We say, "Well, I'm saved by grace, and so
I'm just going to coast on into heaven on flowery beds of ease." No. A disciple is one who follows his master, obeys his master, and there is a price to pay.

Are you paying that price or simply going along with the world?

It costs most people in the United State virtually nothing to become a Christian. The Bible says that we are bought with a price and that it is no longer our life any longer, that it belongs to Christ. Getting saved is literally an act of surrender where we give our very life to the Lord. We belong to Him.

The question today is how many really do that?

How many people really give their lives completely and totally to the Lord?

What price do you pay to be a follower of Christ?

These are legitimate questions since a huge reason we have so much apathy in the Body of Christ is there is little to no price to pay. That is going to change very soon. Real persecution of Christians is coming to this nation, and you will have to decide one day if you really want to be called a Christian or not.

We are going against a very real foe who is NOT playing games and is deadly serious about taking souls to hell, especially in these last days. To fight such an enemy and be victorious, we have to be even more committed and willing to pay whatever the price, even if is our lives, to serve the Lord.

The freedom and prosperity of the United States has made Believers here weak. That is why we have very little influence in our culture.

A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road.

The Chicken says: "Hey Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!"

Pig replies: "Hm, maybe, what would we call it?"

The Chicken responds: "How about 'ham-n-eggs'?"

The Pig thinks for a moment and says:

"No thanks. I'd be committed, but you'd only be involved."

Most Christian's are the same, willing to be involved but very afraid of total commitment!

It is time to rise up, take our stand for Christ, and be willing to pay whatever price we have to to be called a Christian in these last days!

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever desires to save his life for My sake and the Gospel's will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels"

                                                                                                                  Mark 8:34-38

"...and run with patience the race that is set before us."
                                                                            Hebrews 12:1

The word "patience" here doesn't mean the ability to thread a needle, but literally means "endurance."  It means bearing up under some load, some challenge.

Are you looking for an easy way, a cheap way, a lazy way to serve God?
All honey and no bees? A life of ease?  You just want to say, "O, I'm so happy in Jesus." Sadly that's most Christians!

The business of running this race of the Christian life means that you're going to be at it with all of your heart, with everything you have.

You may be on a sick bed or in a wheelchair. But none is excluded. We are to run with endurance and total dedication. When you watch someone running, do you notice how intense he is?

If you're committed to this race, you need to pray over it, you need to weep over it, you need to study over it, you need to work your hardest at it.

This matter of being saved and running the race is a full-time occupation. God is interested in every soul, are you?

He is coming soon, what will you be focused on, committed to?

In these last days this question is more important than it ever was.
